Cypress Growth Capital Expands Investment Team

Cypress Growth Capital is pleased to welcome Vincent Hsieh as the newest member of the firm's investment team.

Prior to joining Cypress, Vince spent the past 16 years starting, building and scaling two SaaS companies. Vince’s first entrepreneurial venture, Atlas RFID –where he was co-founder – was sold to private equity firm Kayne Anderson in 2015 and was then acquired by a strategic buyer in 2021. The second, Geoforce, was a highly successful portfolio company in Cypress’ first royalty fund, exiting to private equity firm LLR Partners in 2019.

As CFO and COO of Geoforce, Vince’s responsibilities spanned finance, operations, marketing, human resources and legal. He also led numerous debt and equity raises, international expansions, and acquisitions. Vince started his career as a turnaround consultant to private equity-owned companies at Arthur Andersen and Alvarez & Marsal.

“Vince’s practical, real-world entrepreneurial experience growing software companies is a tremendous asset to our portfolio companies,” said Vik Thapar, Managing Director at Cypress. “Entrepreneurs are looking for more than just capital. They want helpful and relevant assistance in expanding their company. Our firm has always provided that.”

Hsieh’s joining adds to a Cypress team already deep with operating experience in the software and tech-enabled services industries. “At Geoforce, we chose Cypress as our investment partner not only for their non-dilutive form of capital, but especially for the business value they bring to the table,” said Hsieh. “I’ve learned a lot as an entrepreneur and I want to share that experience by collaborating with other entrepreneurs to help them achieve their goals.”

Vince is a frequent speaker and panelist on the topics of entrepreneurship, growth company operations and capital strategy. He holds an MBA from Duke University and a BS in Economics from UC Berkeley. Vince joins Cypress as a Partner and will be involved in all aspects of the investment lifecycle.
