Ed Mello, Co-Founder
Ed has nearly 30 years of leadership and executive experience in successful start-ups, major corporations and venture investing. For seven years, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Managing Partner of Computer Sciences Corporation’s (CSC) Consulting Group where he led sales, marketing and operations for this $700M, 3000-employee division. Ed has also succeeded as an entrepreneur and venture investor. He was an early employee and senior executive of Viant, a pioneering Internet services company that had a successful IPO. Together with Barton Goodwin, he co-founded Cypress Point Partners, an advisory firm focused on providing funding and driving revenue growth for emerging technology companies. Ed was President – Global Sales and Operations for nGenera, a venture-backed, Austin-based company focused on the business application of social media and collaboration. Ed began his business career at EDS after serving as an officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and is an active member of the Irish Angels, Notre Dame’s entrepreneur mentoring program. He resides in Dallas with his wife Nancy. |

Barton Goodwin, Co-Founder
Barton is a native Texan with over 30 years of success working at premier companies in the information technology sector, with a focus on growth initiatives, mergers and acquisitions and management consulting. Prior to Cypress Growth Capital, Barton co-founded Cypress Point Partners an advisory firm focused on providing funding and driving revenue growth for emerging technology companies. His experience also includes serving as an executive at nGenera, a venture backed company focused on the business application of social media and collaboration. Barton spent 16 years at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), where he served as a Managing Partner in the U.S. consulting practice. During his tenure, he led the company’s Southwest Region, growing the unit from $20M to $80M over a five-year period. He then went on to manage the firm’s national consulting practices, including the Enterprise Resource Planning, Supply Chain and Customer Relationship Management organizations. Barton began his career in information technology at Accenture, where he spent nine years in their Houston office. He received a double major in Economics and Managerial Studies in 1978 from Rice University. As a member of the Rice golf team, Barton earned All Southwest Conference honors three years, All America honors in 1976, and was elected to the Rice Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991. He lives in Flower Mound, a suburb of Fort Worth, with his wife Laura, and has two children: Matthew (SMU - 2008) and Emily (TCU - 2013, hopefully!)

Arthur Fox, Senior Advisor
Arthur is a nationally recognized authority on royalty financing. He brings an impressive track record in venture investing, entrepreneurial business growth and technology development. He advises our firm on all aspects of royalty financing. Arthur co-founded Royalty Capital Fund I in 1992 and Royalty Capital Fund II in 1995, the first successful venture capital funds in the United States to employ a unique, royalty financing investment methodology that he conceived. A successful entrepreneur, Arthur was a principal and co-founder of three technology companies: Octek Inc., Lexidata Corp., and Medicel Inc. Octek’s and Lexidata’s investors received a substantial return on their investment when Octek was acquired by a Fortune 500 company and Lexidata conducted a successful IPO. He has been a mentor and close business advisor to numerous new and emerging companies. Arthur holds an MSEE degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a BSEE degree from the University of Maryland. |
